Der klinische Fall

Ein 22-jähriger Warmblutwallach wurde aufgrund eines schlechten Allgemeinbefindens, Tachypnoe und intermittierenden Fiebers in der Tierärztlichen Klinik Brockhagen vorgestellt. Nach klinischer Untersuchung und weiterführender Diagnostik wurde die Verdachtsdiagnose interstitielle Bronchopneumonie geäußert. Das pathohistologische Bild der Lungenbiopsie entsprach einer „equinen multinodulären Lungenfibrose“, jedoch war in diesem Fall die PCR auf EHV- 2 und -5 negativ. Aufgrund des Befunds, des weit voran geschrittenen Krankheitsverlaufs und der damit verbundenen schlechten Prognose wurde das Pferd mit Einwilligung des Besitzers euthanasiert.
