Die Präeklampsie ist eine der Hauptursachen für schwangerschaftsbedingte mütterliche und kindliche Morbidität und Mortalität. Gerade in entwickelten Ländern, in denen geburtshilfliche Komplikationen durch ein hochentwickeltes Gesundheitswesen beherrschbar sind, ist die Präeklampsie eine der Hauptursachen für mütterliche Todesfälle in der Schwangerschaft [1] .
