Zusammenfassung

Vitamin B6 ist eine Sammelbezeichnung verschiedener Verbindungen, die als Kofaktoren bei sehr vielen Enzymreaktionen wirken. Obwohl es in vielen tierischen und pflanzlichen Lebensmitteln vorkommt, spielt es eine wichtige Rolle in der orthomolekularen Medizin. Da eine zu hohe Dosierung aber auch toxische Wirkungen haben kann, ist eine diagnostische Abklärung des Vitamin-B6-Status im Blut für die Wahl der richtigen Dosierung entscheidend.

Abstract

Vitamin B6 is a collective name for different compounds acting as cofactors in many enzymatic reactions. Although it is present in many foods of animal and vegetable origin, it plays an important role in orthomolecular medicine. As a dose which is too high can also have toxic effects, a diagnostic clarification of the vitamin B6 status in the blood is very important for the choice of the correct dose.
