Zusammenfassung
Dieser Übersichtsartikel behandelt die Möglichkeiten der Entfernung von Platten und
Schrauben. Es werden insbesondere Tipps und Tricks für die sog. problematische Implantatentfernung
dargestellt. Wenn die Indikation zur Implantatentfernung von Platten und Schrauben
gestellt worden ist, handelt es sich um ein handwerkliches operationstechnisches Verfahren.
Bei der unproblematischen Entfernung entstehen im Regelfall keine Schwierigkeiten.
Besondere Techniken, Instrumente, Tipps und Tricks sind dann notwendig, wenn die Metallentfernung
durch Beschädigungen vor allem an den Schrauben, durch festes Blockieren, durch Abbrechen
von Instrumenten und Ähnlichem erschwert ist. In dem Artikel werden nun Verfahren
gezeigt, welche es ermöglichen, mit einem stringenten Pathway diese Metallentfernungen
durchzuführen. Beim Einhalten dieses Pathways wird die „problematische“ Implantatentfernung
„unproblematisch“.

This review article addresses the different ways of explanting plates and screws.
In particular, tips and tricks are offered on how to deal with difficult explantations.
Once the decision has been taken to remove plates and screws, the situation is resolved
by skilled performance of surgical procedures. In general, implant removal is straightforward
and without complications. Special techniques, instruments, tips and tricks are important
when implant removal becomes problematic, due to screw damage, immovable implants,
instrument breakage and similar problems. This article describes procedures that will
put the surgeon on a direct route to implant removal. If you keep strictly to this
pathway, problematic implant removal becomes straightforward procedure.
