Background: Nutcracker syndrome is under diagnosed vascular presentation with variety of treatments suggested in the literature, we present our experience in treating two cases using endovascular renal vein stenting highlighting technical difficulties during the procedure and midterm outcomes.
Materials and Methods: Two symptomatic patient with confirmed radiological diagnosis of nutcracker syndrome underwent left renal vein stenting .patients followed-up for 6-month postoperative for radiological, laboratory, and symptoms.
Results: successful left renal vein stenting in two cases with one case needed complementary distal gonadal vein coiling for pelvic varicosities. Complete relieve of symptoms achieved and was maintained throughout the follow-up period, on case had proteinuria on presentation which was cured after the procedure.
Conclusion: renal vein stenting is a treatment option for patient with nutcracker syndrome failed to improve on conservative and some technical difficulties associated with deployment of large stents to the renal vein, this can be managed by using transjugular approach instead of femoral access.
