The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injured knee presents a complex treatment challenge. The goal of this Special Focus Section of The Journal of Knee Surgery is to provide practical information to the readers for the evaluation and treatment of these complicated knee injuries.

This issue presents the topics of the anatomy and biomechanics of the PCL, imaging review of the PCL, arthroscopic primary repair of the PCL, transtibial PCL reconstruction, and all-inside PCL reconstruction.

The purpose of this Special Focus Section is to provide experienced knee surgeons, general orthopaedic surgeons, fellows, residents, medical students, and other health-care professionals with an interest in PCL injuries an overview for the evaluation and treatment of these complex knee cases.
