„DSD“ – Besonderheiten der Geschlechtsentwicklung

Schlussbemerkung

Menschen mit DSD stellen eine der größten Herausforderungen in der Medizin dar. Meist handelt es sich hier um komplexe Entwicklungsauffälligkeiten, deren grundsätzliches ätiopathogenetisches Verständnis in vielen Fällen noch lückenhaft ist. Daraus folgt, dass auch die Prognose der möglichen Entwicklung meist nicht zu stellen ist. Gerade hier werden die Unzulänglichkeiten bisheriger medizinischer Behandlungskonzepte deutlich.

Eine der großen Herausforderungen ist es, tatsächlich Kompetenznetze und -zentren zu definieren, die neben der Beratung der Patienten und ihrer Familien auch eine Informationsquelle für heimatnahe Betreuer der Betroffenen darstellt. Im Rahmen einer neuen Leitlinienerstellung und durch viel Öffentlichkeitsarbeit werden in nächster Zeit hoffentlich die entsprechenden Strukturen geschaffen werden können [9]. Dies ist nach Meinung des Autors politischen und rechtlichen Regulationselementen, wie einem Verbot jeglicher Operationen im Kindes- und Jugendalter, vorzuziehen. Denn die Arbeit mit DSD zeigt auch, dass in jedem Fall eine individuelle Beurteilung und Beratung erfolgen muss, so dass allgemeine Grundsätze nur als Rahmenbedingung gelten können.
