Puntos de acupuntura y vasos perforantes cutáneos identificados con termografía infrarroja en el miembro superior

Resumen

Objetivo Comprobar la presencia de vasos perforantes cutáneos (VPC) en diferentes puntos de acupuntura (PA) en el miembro superior mediante termografía infrarroja (TI).

Material y Métodos Estudio observacional transversal analítico en el miembro superior de sujetos voluntarios (n = 7). Se analizaron un total de 91 PA, así como 91 puntos control (PC), uno por cada PA. En cada sujeto se marcaron en primer lugar los PA y sus PC correspondientes y, en segundo lugar, se tomaron las imágenes termográficas. Posteriormente, se procesaron las imágenes mediante el software Physio Thermal Imaging (PTI) observando la presencia o no de estos VPC en los PA y los PC correspondientes.

Resultados Se identificaron VPC en el 68,1% del total de los 91 PA examinados. No obstante, a pesar de la fuerte tendencia en la presencia de VPC en los PA estudiados, existen PA que no demuestran diferencias significativas con sus PC correspondientes.

Conclusiones Este estudio demuestra que los VPC y los PA escogidos en la muestra guardan cierta correlación, debido a que existe una presencia alta de VPC en los PA. La TI es una herramienta útil en el proceso de atención de fisioterapia para la acupuntura.
