I want to thank Dr. Kadakia for serving as guest editor for this issue of Seminars in Plastic Surgery on “Special Topics in Palatal and Maxillary Reconstruction.” I also appreciate the efforts made by each outstanding author he has invited to contribute to this issue.

Dr. Sameep Kadakia graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine in Pennsylvania after which he went on to complete a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Pursuing his interest in reconstructive surgery, Dr. Kadakia completed a combined fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Facial Plastic and Microvascular Reconstruction at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Texas under the mentorship of Dr. Yadranko Ducic.

Dr. Kadakia specializes in the surgical treatment of advanced head and neck cancer, regional and microvascular reconstruction, maxillofacial trauma, skull base surgery, and aesthetic surgery. He currently practices in Dayton, Ohio, and is part of the Plastic Surgery Department at Wright State University.
