Summary

The extrarenal excretion of radioactive Diodrast, Urografin, Triopac and Hippuran was studied on two series of rats. In the first series consisting of normal animals the lowest activity in the liver 10 and 30 minutes after intravenous injection of the contrast medium was found after the injection of Hippuran. In a second series animals were investigated after ligation of the duodenum. The lowest extrarenal excretion was found after an injection of J131-Hippuran. In the ligated duodenum minimal amounts of Hippuran were found. Diotrast was found in much higher quantities even when inactive Diodrast was injected in large amounts simultaneously or previously to the active material. One hour after the injection of Urografin and Triopac increased secretion into the duodenum could be found.
