A Rare Sesquiterpenoid Isolated From Psidium Guajava L.
Psidium guajava L. is widely used as a folk medicine and different parts of this plant have been reported to have many pharmacological properties. A further chemical investigation of this plant, collected in Guangdong province, yielded one sesquiterpenoid (1) by repeated silica gel chromatography. The structure was elucidated on the basis of extensive analysis of spectroscopic data including 1D and 2D NMR. It was concluded that this rare chemical skeleton was the first isolated from natural products [1].
