Introduction The development of the neural tube is a complex biological and multifactorial process. Any disruption during this process may result in severe defects of the neural tube. Even though the primary lesion is located within the spinal cord of the central nervous system, serious disorders, such as hydrocephaly, orthopedic disorders, urinary system pathologies, and cognitive disorders, may also accompany the condition. Neural tube defects commonly occur severally, but double and triple cases have also been reported. Indeed, the number of cases in which an encephalocele and spina bifida accompany the condition is very rare.

Aim Herein we present the clinical follow-up and therapeutic management of two newborn babies diagnosed with encephaloceles and spina bifida who were admitted to our hospital after they were referred to the Neurosurgery Clinic for evaluation of a sac at the back of their heads and waists.
