Conservative Treatment of Osteoporotic Fractures with Immobilization in the Clinic for Traumatology CHC Sisters of Charity

Target Target of this study was to present epidemiologic data connected with our work in the policlinical outpatient office of Clinic for Traumatology in different kinds of treatment and results in conservative treatment of vertebral fractures in older people.

Methods In the period of 5 years, we analyzed data with secondary characteristics from the database of BIS Hospital information system. We provided a descriptive statistic analyze of data.

Conclusion Nowadays, traumatology successfully treats patients giving them active and pain-free movements and higher quality of life with the modern treatment of osteoporotic fractures in older people. Long tradition and experience with big number of patients gives us the credibility for our good results. Luckily, osteoporotic vertebral fractures in older people are stabile fractures without neurologic pathologic symptoms. Their treatment is almost always conservative with usage of spinal orthoses. Our team's knowledge, education, and skills with focus on the meaning of each patient as an individual case gives the best results in the treatment of such fractures.
