Zusammenfassung
In diesem Fallbericht wird die Behandlung einer Patientin mit skelettaler Klasse III
und asymmetrischem Unterkiefer vorgestellt. Die Patientin zeigte ein konkaves Gesichtprofil,
das untere Gesichtsdrittel war vergrößert, die oberen Schneidezähne standen normal
und die unteren retroklin.
Um sämtliche Behandlungsziele sowie die ästhetische Verbesserung des Gesichtes zu
erreichen, wäre hier ein kieferorthopädisch-chirurgisches Verfahren notwendig.
Obwohl es sich dabei um die ideale Behandlungsoption handelt, verweigern Patienten
häufig eine kombinierte kieferorthopädisch-chirurgische Therapie. In solchen Fällen
sind kompensierende Behandlungsmaßnahmen erforderlich.
Wir präsentieren hier einen Fall, in dem bei einer erwachsenen dolichofazialen Patientin
mit skelettaler Klasse III und Asymmetrie des Unterkiefers eine ausschließlich kieferorthopädische
kompensierende Behandlung mit einseitiger Extraktion von Zähnen durchgeführt wurde.
Abstract
This case report describes the orthodontic treatment of a woman with a skeletal Class
III and a mandible asymmetry. The patient had a concave profile, the lower facial
third was augmented, the upper incisor inclination was normal and the lower incisors
were retroclined.
In order to reach all the goals, including an improvement of facial aesthetics a surgical-orthodontic
approach had to be performed.
Although this is the ideal option, on many occasions the patient rejects orthodontic
treatment combined with orthognathic surgery and compensatory treatment measures are
needed.
Here we will present a case of a skeletal Class III in a dolichofacial adult patient
with mandibular asymmetry using only orthodontic treatment with unilateral extraction.
