Stevia und Xylit zur Kariesprophylaxe?

Inzwischen weiß Jeder, dass Zucker weder gesund für die Zähne noch förderlich für die Figur ist. Ein Übermaß belastet den Stoffwechsel und führt bei diabetischer Stoffwechsellage zur Entstehung zahlreicher Erkrankungen. Dennoch ist der Verzicht auf Süßes kein leichtes Unterfangen, sodass der Einsatz von alternativen Süßungsmitteln die Umstellung auf eine zuckerärmere Kost erleichtern kann. Dafür bieten sich Stevia und Xylit an, 2 alternative Süßungsmittel, welche im Folgenden näher vorgestellt und bezüglich ihrer kariespräventiven Eigenschaften dargestellt werden.
