Clinician's perspective on the dietary supplement health and education act of 1994's (DSHEA) ability to ensure the safety of dietary supplements
Dr. Pieter Cohen will provide one clinician's perspective on the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994's (DSHEA) ability to ensure the safety of dietary supplements.
Specifically, he will attempt to address these key questions: Does DSHEA ensure that safe supplements are available to consumers? Do labels provide consumers with adequate information about supplements?
Are there fundamental problems with the law? Are there problems with rogue manufactures? Does the United States Food and Drug Administration bear any responsibility for the current state-of-affairs?
Where should we go from here?
