In the investigated patient cohort, treatment with low abrasive powder stream (glycine 99%, silizium 1%) showed a more effective reduction of probing depths than mechanical debridement with plastic curettes after 6 months. The consideration of our strict inclusion criteria in the sample size calculation results in a large number of study participants which motivate the extension of our clinical trial to other study centers.
