Der Einsatz von Strahlenschutzmitteln im Kontrollbereich dient dem Schutz von Personal
und Patient vor unnötiger Belastung durch Röntgenstrahlung und ist neben der rechtlichen
Forderung eine Selbstverständlichkeit im Alltagsbetrieb einer radiologisch tätigen
Abteilung. Die regelmäßige Überprüfung der Schutzfunktion dieser Strahlenschutzmittel
wird allgemein gefordert, allerdings gab es hierzu bisher keine genaueren Vorgaben
zur Durchführung. Dies ändert sich mit der Norm DIN 6857-2. Zudem zeigt sich anhand
der bisherigen Erfahrungen, dass eine regelmäßige und systematische Durchführung der
Qualitätskontrolle von Strahlenschutzmitteln unabdingbar ist.
Abstract
The use of radioprotective equipment in controlled areas is intended to protect staff
and patients from unnecessary exposure to X-radiation. Besides the legal requirement,
the application of radioprotective equipment is a matter of course in the daily radiologic
routine. Regular monitoring to ensure appropriate function of radiation protection
is widely demanded. So far, however, there were no specific guidelines for the implementation
of the respective inspection and test plans. This will change with the new DIN 6857-2,
which currently is in the draft phase and expected to be published and brought into
effect later in 2014. Beyond that, the past experience clearly reveals that the implementation
of a periodic and systematic quality control of radiation protection equipment is
indispensable.
