Case Report: Reconstruction Nasal with Prosthesis Biosynthetic

Introduction: A patient (LBC), 50 years old, victim of trauma face presented on August 12, 2012, on the occasion for surgical treatment of fracture stabilization and treatment of epistaxis severe. However, in postoperative patient evolved with late nasal obstruction and important functional loss due to trauma.

Objective: This study aims to report a case of nasal reconstruction with prosthesis biosynthetic performed by service otorhinolaryngology and bucomaxillofacial surgery of Socor Hospital and Vera Cruz Hospital.

Summary: Patient exhibit flattening root and third middle nasal and disclaimer deformity septum nose with loss of fabric cartilaginous. Synechiae in the region bilateral of valve nose requested tomography of the sinuses with three-dimensional reconstruction for appropriate surgical planning. The patient underwent open rhinoseptoplasty under general anesthesia, where all the structure of nasal septum, dorsum, and pyramid nasal were reconstructed. The nasal reconstruction has become possible with the use of a prosthesis biosynthetic planned with imaging of tomography of the sinuses. Implant, in bioceramics calcium, this is a bioceramics nano-structured, microporous, and macroporous composed mainly of hydroxyapatite betatricalciumphosphate with 100% biocompatibility granted. Entire surgical procedure occurred without any complications.

Conclusion: The use of prosthesis biosynthetic is of extreme value in facial reconstruction and especially when there is nasal bone loss and significant cartilage, providing better restructuring with anatomical and functional surgical satisfactory result.
