Cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory activity of diarylbutane lignans from the bark of Bursera ariensis
Six diarylbutane lignans were isolated from the bark chloroformic extract of B. ariensis and have been evaluated for cytotoxic and anti-inflammatory activity. The isolates have similar chemical structure with presence of methylenedioxy (1) and methoxy (2) groups. The complete structure assignments were obtained by means of 1H and 13C NMR spectra. Biological actions of the isolated compounds will be discussed.
