Wolcotinosides IV and V, two novel glycolipids with pentasaccharide core were isolated and purified by preparative-scale recycling HPLC from a chloroform-soluble extract from the flowers of Ipomoea wolcottiana. Their structures were characterized through the interpretation of their NMR spectroscopic and FABMS data. These compouds are no cytotoxic against a variety of tumor cell lines (HeLa, HCT-15, MCF-7).
