Zum Wirkstoff Peressigsäure gibt es in vielen Bereichen der Desinfektion kaum eine
Alternative. Die Substanz wird vor allem durch ihre breite Wirksamkeit gegen Mikroorganismen,
Viren und Biofilme geschätzt. Weitere Vorteile sind die gute Umweltverträglichkeit,
Reinigungsleistung und der geringe Härte- und Kältefehler. Nachteilig können sich
dagegen Verschmutzungen durch organisches Begleitmaterial (insbesondere Blut und Eiweiß)
auswirken. Auch die Verfallszeit von Konzentraten wie von Anwendungslösungen muss
beachtet werden.
Peracetic acid can hardly be substituted by other active disinfectant ingredients
in many application areas. The substance has a broad activity against microorganisms,
viruses and biofilms. Further advantages are the good environmental compatibility,
cleaning activity and the low sensitivity for water hardness and temperatures below
20 °C. On the other hand, organic load (in particular blood and protein) are able
to reduce its activity significantly. In addition, the limited shelf-life of concentrates
as well as application solutions must be considered.
