Probiotics have made their way into oral health care. Despite our rapidly increasing knowledge of host-pathogen interactions, the role of beneficial bacteria and probiotics in oral health remains obscure. There is a great need for elucidating the role of the oral beneficial bacteria and probiotics by properly conducted studies on the usefulness of probiotics to maintain or improve oral health.
