Gruppenpsychotherapie des pathologischen Spielens

Das pathologische Spielen ist eine Erkrankung, die derzeit den Impulskontrollstörungen zugeordnet wird, die jedoch vom Symptombild und den Behandlungsmöglichkeiten einer Abhängigkeitserkrankung entspricht. Die Betroffenen nutzen vorwiegend Glücksspiele mit schnellem Spielablauf und niedrigem Einsatz. Das größte Abhängigkeitspotenzial haben Geldspielautomaten.

Die Behandlung des pathologischen Spielens erfolgt primär über die Psychotherapie und bedient sich integrativer Ansätze. Gruppenpsychotherapie ist aufgrund ihrer spezifischen kurativen Wirkfaktoren besonders zur Behandlung des Krankheitsbilds geeignet. Ein zentraler Ansatz in der verhaltenstherapeutischen Gruppenbehandlung des pathologischen Spielens liegt in der Anwendung operanter Verfahren, darunter insbesondere der Stimuluskontrolle in Form von Geldmanagement.

Psychotherapeuten, die Gruppenpsychotherapie anbieten, sollten für dieses Behandlungssetting ausgebildet sein. Spezifische Therapeutenvariablen können während der Gruppenpsychotherapie zur Verschlechterung der Symptome der Patienten führen. Daher ist eine kontinuierliche Supervision oder Intervision empfehlenswert. Während der Durchführung von Gruppenpsychotherapie sollten sowohl die mannigfaltigen kurativen Wirkfaktoren als auch die protektiven Verhaltensweisen der Gruppenpsychotherapeuten bewusst angewendet werden.
