Seit etwa 10 Jahren wird über die mögliche Diagnostik und Bedeutung subklinischer Endometritiden beim Rind berichtet. In einer vorherigen Ausgabe des Veterinärspiegels haben wir die Thematik in einem Artikel zur chronischen Endometritis des Rindes bereits in sehr verkürzter Form angesprochen (Prunner et al. veterinär spiegel 3/2012). Die vorliegende Arbeit bietet eine ausführlichere Übersicht der bisherigen Erkenntnisse mit Hinweisen auf die Bedeutung der bisherigen Erkenntnisse für die tierärztliche Praxis.
