Zusammenfassung

Rückenschmerzen sind in allen Industrienationen eine der häufigsten Ursachen von Schmerzen, Arztbesuchen, diagnostischen und therapeutischen Maßnahmen, Krankschreibungen und Frühberentungen und damit auch sozioökonomischer Folgen. Die Ursachen sind vielfältig und oftmals nicht eindeutig zuzuordnen, die Folgen reichen von „harmlosen“ und zeitlich begrenzten Schmerzen mit hoher Spontanheilungsrate bis hin zu chronisch verlaufenden oder aber auch intermittierenden erheblichen Schmerzen und damit einhergehenden Funktionseinschränkungen und Verlust an Lebensqualität.

Im diesem Beitrag werden die Diagnostik und die konservative Therapie des nichtspezifischen Rückenschmerzes der Lendenwirbelsäule dargestellt.
