19. Essener Peritonealdialyse-Gespräch – Wie kann die Prognose von PD-Patienten verbessert werden?

Das 19. Essener Peritonealdialyse-Gespräch, das unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Andreas Kribben, Direktor der Klinik für Nephrologie des Universitätsklinikums Essen, PD Dr. Heike Bruck und Fachpflegekraft Ina Wiegard-Szramek – beide ebenfalls vom Universitätsklinikum Essen – stattfand, deckte eine große Bandbreite an Themen ab. Es ermöglichte den Teilnehmern eine intensive Fort- und Weiterbildung im Bereich der Peritonealdialyse (PD). Das Spektrum der durch die Fresenius Medical Care GmbH, Bad Homburg, unterstützten Veranstaltung reichte von der Erfolgsgeschichte des pädiatrischen PD-Netzwerks über die Revision der Qualitätsrichtlinien und den Möglichkeiten zum Erhalt der Restnierenfunktion bis hin zu neuen Erkenntnissen zu hämodynamischen Effekten der Dialyse. Ein grundlegendes Anliegen, das sich in allen Beiträgen widerspiegelte, war die Frage, wie die Prognose von chronisch nierenkranken Patienten verbessert werden könne.
