Secondary metabolites from the stem of Neolitsea daibuensis and their anti-inflammatory activity
Bioassay-guided fractionation of active ethyl acetate-soluble layer from the setm of Neolitsea daibuensis Kamikoti led to the isolation of 28 compounds, including 13 new sesquiterpenoids: elemanodaibulactones A-C, daibudilactones A-E, daibulactones D-G, and daibuguaianin. The structures of these isolates were elucidated by spectral analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Daibudilactone A, daibudilactone B, daibudilactone C, daibudilactone D, elemanodaibulactone A, and daibudilactone E exhibited potent anti-inflammatory activity using an inducible enitric oxide synthase (iNOS) assay, with IC50 values of 0.44, 2.73, 1.48, 13.78, 6.70, and 4.73 µM, respectively.
