Wie die aktuelle Osteopathiegeschichte jetzt enthüllt, hat der schwedische Wissenschaftler und Philosoph Swedenborg mit seinen ins Englische übertragenen Schriften ‚Economy of the Animal Kingdom‘, ‚On Tremulation‘ und ‚The Brain‘ offensichtlich nachhaltigen Eindruck auf die Gründerväter der Osteopathie, allen voran auf Still und Sutherland, gemacht. Um die Konzepte Swedenborgs zu verdeutlichen, wurde in den Artikel von Fuller eine in dem ursprünglichen Artikel nicht vorhandene Passage über Swedenborgs Menschenbild eingefügt.
