Zusammenfassung

Um den Kalorienbedarf eines Patienten zu berechnen, gilt bisher die indirekte Kalorimetriemessung als maßgebende Methode. Da sie sehr kosten- und zeitintensiv ist, gibt es diverse alternative Berechnungsformeln. Jan Wohlgehagen hat sich in der Literatur umgeschaut und ein erweitertes Review zum Gebrauch von Schätzformeln zur Bestimmung des Ruheenergiebedarfs beim maschinell ventilierten, kritisch Erkrankten erstellt.
