Six known compounds and four new prenylated stilbenes were isolated from the stem bark of Artocarpus communis (Moraceae), collected in the Philippine Islands. The structures of the four new prenylated stilbenes, along with the six known compounds, cycloartobiloxanthone, artobiloxanthone, artonin E, kuwanon C, cudraflavone C and morusin, were determined by the interpretation of 1D and 2D NMR, and mass spectrometry data. All ten compounds were evaluated for their ability to act as inhibitors of HIF-2α (hypoxia inducible factor-2 alpha) associated transcription.
