Six germacrane sesquiterpenes (1 – 6) were isolated from Illicium lanceolatum, five of which (1 – 4, 6) are new structures. Their absolute configurations were established by a combination of modified mosher's method and NMR experiments. 4 and 5 showed proliferative activity on SH-SY5Y (a neuroblastoma cell line) by 36.18% (at 62.5µM) and 45.75% (at 15.63µM) after 48-hr incubation, respectively.
