A new sulfated oleanane-type triterpene (1), and five known saponins (2 – 6) of the oleanane-type were isolated from the leaves of Schefflera elegantissima for the first time. The structure of the new saponin was determined based on different spectroscopic analyses. The cytotoxic, anti leishmanial and antimicrobial effects of the isolated compounds are discussed.
