Here we present an update on the MLL recombinome. We have successfully analyzed 1624 MLL-rearranged patients, however, we excluded 33 already classified MLL-r patients from further analyses because of missing informations. All other patient cases (n = 1590) were anaylzed for correlations between the fusion partner, disease type, age at diagnosis, gender and breakpoint distribution. Patients were subdivided into 558 infant leukemia patients (0 – 1 year), 416 pediatric leukemia patients (1 – 18 years), and 616 adult leukemia patients (18 – 92 years). We present the up-to-date "MLL recombinome" (75 direct MLL fusion genes; > 100 reciprocal MLL fusions) and a comprehensive interpretation of all significant findings.
