Geschichte der Dialysemaschinen – Von den Anfängen bis heute

In den über 150 Jahren seit der Entdeckung des Prinzips der Dialyse bzw. den fast 90 Jahren seit der ersten Dialyse am Menschen wurde das Verfahren laufend verbessert und vor allem sicherer gemacht. Dies betrifft die verwendeten Membranen ebenso wie die Hemmung der Blutgerinnung. Vor allem aber hielt die in den Dialysegeräten verwendete Technik Schritt mit der allgemeinen technischen Entwicklung in Industrie und Handwerk. So ist die Dialyse heute ein sicheres therapeutisches Verfahren für die Behandlung von Patienten mit akutem und chronischem Nierenversagen geworden.

During the more than 150 years since the discovery of the principle of dialysis and the nearly 90 years since the first dialysis on a human being, the procedure has been continually improved and above all made safer. This concerns the membranes and the inhibition of blood clotting. However, above all, the technology used in dialysis machines maintained the same technical standard as were used in modern developments in industry and handicraft. Thus, dialysis has become a safe therapeutic process for the treatment of patients with chronic kidney disease.
