The Guest Editor of this issue of Seminars in Neurology is Christine Klein, M.D. Dr. Klein is Professor of Neurology and the Schilling Professor of Clinical and Molecular Neurogenetics at the University of Lübeck, Germany.

Dr. Klein went to Medical School at the University of Hamburg, Germany, and did her residency at the University of Lübeck. She was a Neurogenetics Research Fellow in the Laboratory of Xandra O. Breakefield, Ph.D., at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. She also trained with Anthony E. Lang, M.D., in Toronto, Canada. At a very young age, she became a full professor at the University of Lübeck.

Dr. Klein has been the recipient of many prestigious honors. She is the recipient of the Schilling Career Development Award of the Hermann and Lilly Schilling Foundation. She was awarded the Derek-Denny Brown Award of the American Neurological Association in 2008. The Belgian Neurological Society has made her an Honorary Member. She is the recipient of the Heinrich Pette Award of the German Neurological Society, the Lichtenburg Career Development Award of the Volkswagen Foundation, the Heisenberg Fellowship of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, the Parkinson Award of the German Neurological Society, the Oppenheim Award of the German Dystonia Foundation, the Hilde Ulrich's Foundation for Research in Parkinson's Disease Award, and the International Research Fellowship awarded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

She is the Director of the Genetics in Neurology Course at the American Academy of Neurology and has extensive funding for her research. She is on the Editorial Boards of Neurology and Movement Disorders and has a distinguished publication record of more than 158 scholarly works. At a very young age, she has a lifetime of accomplishments.

This issue of Seminars in Neurology is the best collection of manuscripts on neurogenetics that I have ever read. I am delighted to share it with my colleagues.

I am so very grateful to you, Dr. Klein, and to all of the contributors to this incredible volume. You have greatly enhanced our knowledge.
