Das exzessive Schreien ist eine der größten Herausforderungen für viele Eltern. In Industrieländern sind 15 bis 25 % aller gesunden Neugeborenen davon betroffen [4]. Als mögliche Ursachen werden immer wieder Missverständnisse in der Eltern-Kind-Kommunikation und mangelnder Körperkontakt diskutiert.
