Antioxidative Vitamine und körperliche Belastbarkeit

Zusammenfassung

Körperliche Aktivität steigert die Bildung freier Radikale und erhöht damit potenziell den oxidativen Stress. Sportlern wird daher eine vermehrte Zufuhr von antioxidativen Vitaminen empfohlen. Ziel soll angeblich eine verbesserte körperliche und muskuläre Belastbarkeit sein, die über den Weg der beschleunigten Regeneration und erhöhten Trainierbarkeit auch eine Steigerung der Leistungsfähigkeit erbringt. Aus der derzeitigen Studienlage ergibt sich allerdings kein evidenzbasierter Nachweis, dass eine hoch dosierte Supplementierung mit antioxidativen Vitaminen die muskuläre Leistungs- und Regenerationsfähigkeit bei gesunden Sportlern verbessert. Eine gezielte Ernährung reich an Früchten, Gemüse und pflanzlichen Ölen kann auch im Hochleistungssport den Bedarf an antioxidativen Vitaminen decken und die Leistungsfähigkeit sicherstellen.
