It is with great joy that we welcome back Autumn Klein as the Guest Editor of Seminars in Neurology. She was the Guest Editor of the 2007 issue of Seminars in Neurology on Neurological Issues in Pregnancy. Dr. Klein is Chief of the Division of Women's Neurology and Assistant Professor of Neurology and Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Autumn did her undergraduate work at Amherst College and obtained her M.D. and Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Boston University School of Medicine. She did her internship in Internal Medicine at Brown University, and her Neurology Residency in the Partners Neurology Program – Harvard, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Following her year as Chief Resident, she did a Clinical Neurophysiology/Epilepsy Fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She joined the Faculty of the Harvard Medical School in 2007 and was the Director of the Program in Women's Neurology. This summer the University of Pittsburgh had the good fortune of recruiting her to lead their Division of Women's Neurology.

Dr. Klein's life's work is guiding and shaping this critical area of neurology and in the process, she is impacting the lives of generations to come. She has identified the need for neuro-obstetrics and continuously recruits colleagues to improve the care of women and their babies. She is a gifted teacher, clinician, and author.

We are terribly grateful to Autumn and to all of the contributors to this issue of Seminars in Neurology for sharing their expertise in the care of the pregnant patient. This issue is dedicated to Autumn's daughter, Cianna, with gratitude for the joy you bring to the remarkable woman who is your mother.
