Fragestellung:
Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) includes a wide range of morphologic different
lesions with divergent clinical behaviour. The exact number of cases and the incidence
is not known for Germany. Cancer registries will cover only choriocarcinomas and in
case of malignant course the placental site and the epitheloid trophoblastic tumor.
Methode:
The German Working Group for Gynecologic Malignancies (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Gynäkologische
Onkologie e.V. (AGO) which acts under the roof of the German Cancer Society and the
German Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology has established a registry for GTD for
two years. Registered cases and previous ones collected at the University of Leipzig
since 1996 were evaluated.
Ergebnisse:
65 cases were available. These included 16.4% partial mole, 8.8% complete moles, and
1.2% for the villous forms of GTD and 18.1% exaggerated placantal sites, 14.6% placental
site nodules, 2.9% choriocarcinomas and 2.4% placental site trophoblastic tumors.
Schlussfolgerung:
The villous forms of GTD are the most prevalent ones. The registry allows the collection
of large number of cases which might subject of molecular studies.
