Mutter-Kind-Behandlung bei postpartalen psychischen Erkrankungen

  • Psychische Erkrankungen der Mutter gehören zu den häufigsten Komplikationen im ersten Jahr nach einer Geburt. Klinische Studien und lokale Erhebungen haben gezeigt, dass Frauen in der Postpartalzeit das ganze Spektrum der psychiatrischen Bilder entwickeln können und dass ca. 15 % aller gebärenden Frauen an einer behandlungsbedürftigen psychischen Störung leiden.

  • Die psychische Erkrankung einer Mutter bedarf besonderer Aufmerksamkeit und Betreuung. Denn einerseits besteht bei den betroffenen Frauen ein erhöhtes Risiko für Suizidalität, komorbide Diagnosen oder die Chronifizierung der Erkrankung und andererseits wird durch die Erkrankung die Mutter-Kind-Beziehung beeinträchtigt.

  • Die psychische Erkrankung der Mutter in der Postpartalzeit kann sich nachhaltig negativ auf die kognitive und emotionale Entwicklung des Kindes auswirken. Dieser Zusammenhang wird auch durch Defizite der Beziehung, die selbst bei weniger schweren Diagnosen auftreten, erklärt. Die Beziehungsstörungen überdauern oft das Abklingen der psychischen Erkrankung und können zu Kindesmisshandlungen oder sogar zum Infantizid führen. Daher kann sich die Therapie postpartaler psychischer Erkrankungen nicht auf die Behandlung der psychischen Störung einer Mutter beschränken.
