PEG-Immobilized Cobalt(II) Schiff Base for Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Amines

Significance

The PEG-immobilized cobalt(II) complex 4 was prepared by treatment of 1 with propargyl bromide followed by immobilization onto MeOPEG5000 via the copper-catalyzed click reaction with azide 3. The cobalt(II) complex 4 catalyzed the oxidative dehydrogenation of secondary amines 5 to afford the corresponding imines 6 and its hydrolysis products 7 in up to 100% conversion (7 examples).
