Abstract
One-pot reactions of aldehydes, 2-aminopyridines, and terminal alkynes, in the presence of the copper(I) iodide-NaHSO4˙SiO2 combination catalyst in refluxing toluene, generate the corresponding imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines in high to excellent yields; the mechanism has been studied.
