One-Pot Synthesis of 3-Arylquinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dithiones by the Reaction of 2-Lithiophenyl Isothiocyanates with Aryl Isothiocyanates

Abstract

3-Arylquinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dithiones were synthesized in satisfactory yields from 2-bromophenyl isothiocyanates in one pot via generation of the corresponding 2-lithiophenyl isothiocyanates by bromine-lithium exchange with butyllithium followed by treatment with aryl isothiocyanates.
