Significance

The electrochemical fluorination of organosulfur compounds in Et3N˙5HF with polystyrene-supported iodobenzene (PSIB) and Et4NCl was performed in an undivided cell under constant current conditions to give the corresponding fluorides in 67-86% yield. Both PSIB and Et4NCl were essential to promote the reaction efficiently (without PSIB or Et4NCl: 40% and 50% yield, respectively).
