Summary

Due to the literature and to our own experience the vaginal and rectal vitamin D application might contribute to a progress in oncology, immunology and infectiology.

Vitamin D has excellent antiinflammatory, immunostimulating and antioxidative effects. We found a good vaginal and rectal vitamin D resorption and thus an option for the treatment and prophylaxis of the chronical recurring colpitis, cervicitis and dysplasia, PAP II W and PAP III D. The vaginal vitamin D treatment was successful in 93 % of our PAP II W patients and in 89 % of our PAP III D patients.

The rectal and vaginal vitamin D application in women might also be an option for prophylaxis and complementary after-care treatment of the colorectal cancer, the cervix, corpus, ovarian and bladder cancer and in men of the colorectal, prostate and bladder cancer.
