Einleitung

Die postendodontische Versorgung ist das Bindeglied zwischen der endodontischen Zahnerhaltung und der erfolgreichen, dauerhaften prothetischen Versorgung. Perfektion in nur jeweils einem der beiden Teilbereiche wird nicht genügen, um dem Patientenziel des dauerhaften Kaukomforts zu genügen. Deshalb ist es wichtig, hier das richtige Verfahren zu wählen – und es hat sich viel getan in den letzten 10 Jahren. Während jahrzehntelang der gegossene Stiftstumpfaufbau (SSA) Mittel der Wahl war, so ist es heute der konfektionierte Aufbaustift in Kombination mit einem Kompositaufbau. Ob nun ein faserverstärkter oder metallischer Aufbaustift zu verwenden ist, wird eher durch Handling-Eigenschaften bestimmt. Der Trend geht jedoch in Richtung glas- bzw. quarzfaserverstärkter Materialien.
