Tocotrienol-Flavonoid-Kombination senkt signifikant LDL und hsCRP

Zusammenfassung

84 Patienten mit Hypercholesterinämie wurden über 12 Wochen mit einer Tocotrienol-Citrusflavonoid-Kombination (ergänzende bilanzierte Diät) behandelt. Zwei Drittel der Patienten (67 %) sprachen auf die Behandlung an. Die LDL-Senkung war hochsignifikant und lag bei durchschnittlich 15 %. Die höchste gemessene LDL-Reduktion betrug 44 %, die zweithöchste 33 %. Der Entzündungsmarker hsCRP wurde ebenfalls signifikant um durchschnittlich 43 % gesenkt. Der Effekt auf die Triglyzeride war mit minus 2 % gering, es zeigte sich kein Effekt auf HDL-Cholesterin. Die Verträglichkeit wurde von Ärzten und Patienten als sehr gut bzw. gut bewertet. Alle Patienten, auch die, bei denen die Cholesterinwerte nicht gesenkt werden konnten, profitierten von der hsCRP-Senkung des Präparates. Die Behandlung mit einer Tocotrienol-Citrusflavonoid-Kombination ist deshalb in vielen Fällen eine natürliche Alternative zur Statinbehandlung.
