Peritonealdialyse - Neue Perspektiven für den Einsatz von Icodextrin

Die erhöhte Glukoseexposition der Peritonealmembran und die systemische Resorption der Glukose bei Peritonealdialysepatienten werden zunehmend kritisch betrachtet. Neue therapeutische Strategien müssen daher nicht nur die Dialyseeffizienz möglichst erhöhen, sondern auch die Glukosebelastung durch die Kombination mit glukosefreien osmotischen Wirkstoffen wie Icodextrin und Aminosäuren verringern. Zwei kürzlich publizierte Studien beschreiben Erfolg versprechende Ansätze zur Erreichung beider Ziele: Zum einen durch den Einsatz von Icodextrin 2-mal täglich, zum anderen durch die Anwendung einer Mischlösung aus Icodextrin und Glukose als "bimodale" Peritonealdialyselösung [1], [2].
