Vitaminsupplementation bei Hämodialysepatienten - Ausgleich des Mangels an wasserlöslichen Vitaminen

Bereits in den 1970er-Jahren wurde bei Dialysepatienten eine verminderte Serumkonzentration wasserlöslicher Vitamine nachgewiesen [1]. Zum einen werden diese durch die Dialyse entzogen, zum anderen zeigen Dialysepatienten neben Appetitlosigkeit [2] Störungen der Magenentleerung, der Darmmotalität und der Sekretion der Verdauungssäfte [3]. Außerdem dürfen die Patienten vitaminreiche Nahrungsmittel wie Obst aufgrund der hohen Kaliumbelastung nicht verzehren, was zusätzlich die Vitaminaufnahme über die Nahrung limitiert.

Demzufolge erhalten heute mehr als 70 % der Dialysepatienten in den USA eine Vitaminsupplementierung [4]. Der Spitzenreiter im europäischen Vergleich ist Spanien mit zirka 38 %. Deutschland liegt bei etwa 15 % [5], was angesichts der Bedeutung der Vitaminsupplementierung zu gering erscheint.
